Michaelis M.
I’m a versatile Graphic Designer and photographer with over 7 years of experience in Editorial Design. My work is deeply influenced by minimalist and conceptual design principles, particularly drawing inspiration from Japanese aesthetics—both in graphic and industrial design. I’m a creative and driven individual, always seeking to push boundaries, which has led me to explore and contribute to a variety of creative projects throughout my career.
Currently, I am the founder and publisher of Obentō Press, an independent publishing company I established last year. In addition to managing my own projects, I have also played a key role in several successful crowdfunding campaigns, helping artists and magazines bring their visions to life through book publishing.
Earlier in my career, I worked at a printing company in 2005, where I handled the paper cutting machine. This hands-on experience gave me a solid understanding of the production side of design and printing, and it remains a valuable foundation for my design process today.
I’ve also had the opportunity to intern with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), where I collaborated on specialized design and video editing projects, further refining my ability to work on impactful, mission-driven initiatives.
Most of my creative work is produced using Adobe Creative Cloud, though my curiosity and commitment to learning continuously motivate me to explore new tools and creative apps. Staying competitive and sharpening my skills is central to my approach, as I am always on the lookout for opportunities to challenge myself and grow as a designer.
