I am looking for a role as an English Teacher/ Assistant! I am experienced with four years of tutoring, English is my native language, and I am currently a resident in Oviedo.
When teaching English, I focus on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. My lessons are structured to include a mix of direct instruction, interactive activities, and independent practice. I start by introducing the topic and providing clear explanations with examples. Then, I engage students in activities such as reading, writing, speaking, and listening exercises that reinforce the lesson. I am currently enrolled in the M.A.E.D. in School Counseling program at Concordia University Irvine (online) and feel I could be working in a more meaningful role, using my interpersonal skills, teaching techniques and learning theories, and student planning while completing this program. I have excellent skills in communication, interpersonal skills, organization, teaching, advising, managing caseloads, effective listening and more that would allow me to succeed in this role. I am experienced in providing high quality support to students of different language backgrounds as I volunteer with German speaking middle school students assisting with English tutoring. My previous supervisors have told me that I have an amazing work ethic and am responsible with time and communication. I believe students would find me very helpful and easy to work with in this role. A key strategy I use is encouraging students to learn from their mistakes. I provide constructive feedback in a positive manner, helping them understand what went wrong and how to improve. This approach not only helps them grasp the material better but also builds their confidence. Additionally, I emphasize a positive mindset by celebrating their progress and efforts. I use praise and encouragement to motivate them, fostering a love for learning. Other strategies include using real-life scenarios to make lessons relatable, incorporating multimedia resources to cater to different learning styles, and setting achievable goals to track their improvement over time.
