Rebekah L.
Hi!
My name is Rebekah Larner and I am looking for work in or around Alcalá de Henares, particularly with children. I was born in Norwich, England and have lived there all my life so I speak native English, however I have been living in Spain for two years and have a B2 level of Spanish. I am a friendly and approachable female looking for extra work in the mornings.
I have lots of experience working with children of different ages and in different settings. Every life begins as a child and the environment and upbringing of each child shapes our future society. Therefore it is of utmost importance that every child is supported and looked after throughout the most exciting part of human development. Working with children is something I enjoy immensely and am passionate about and I look forward to doing it more.
I also have lots of experience teaching English to people of all ages, including adults, and can offer high quality private English classes online or in person in or around Alcala de Henares.

Experiencia y habilidades
I worked for two years as an auxiliaire de conversacion with infantil and primaria, and I now work in an academy as an English teacher in the afternoons. In the academy I teach children from 3rd of primary up to adults.
I volunteered and helped to run a Church group for under 5s called Little Acorns in my village in England where children were encouraged to play and explore and I also babysat for a few families in my village over the years. As part of my undergraduate degree in Childhood studies, I also volunteered in a school with children between the ages of 4 and 7 where I actively observed and supported their development in a more structured setting. My university studies also allowed me to gain a greater insight into the thoughts and behaviours of children as individuals, as well as providing me with ideas as to how best to support each child and help them to overcome any obstacles they may face.
During the three previous summer holidays I have worked abroad. The first two summers were in holiday villages in Egypt and then Tenerife, working with children of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. The sessions were prepared in advance with other team members but, due to the nature of the sessions, we had to be adaptable depending on the number and ability levels of attendants. The most prominent element of these sessions was engaging with the children to increase their level of involvement and enjoyment whilst ensuring their safety. We also communicated with parents, some of whom were using the kids club as a transition into preschool, to reassure them and involve them in their child?s experiences.
A few summers ago I worked as an Au Pair just outside of Madrid. This was a wonderful experience as I was involved in the family?s day to day life and got to know their culture as a Spanish family. I spent a lot of time with the family, speaking English and playing lots with the three children but also doing things such as climbing mountains as part of their whole family. I am still very much in contact with the family and recently attended the First Communion of the two youngest children.
I have since spent my summers working as a leader and later coordinating a summer camp in Alcalá de Henares, planning the activities, organising the staff and the timetables, and working directly with the children from aged 3 upwards.
